New-to-Houston Cajun chain to open soon

A Colorado-based Cajun restaurant company is opening its first Houston-area location.
The Lost Cajun is opening in mid-March at 7042 FM 1960 E. in Humble, according to a release. The restaurant offers traditional Cajun food such as gumbo, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, jambalaya and beignets. Click through the slideshow to see some of the menu items.
Houston native Greg Schwalbach is the franchisee of the Lost Cajun's Humble location. The company expects to add 11 locations around Houston in the next several years. Houston-based Wulfe & Co. Inc. is handling leasing and managerial activities.

The Humble space is about 2,800 square feet, and QEH Atascocita LLC owns the building. The restaurant's interior has a "hole-in-the-wall" feel with wooden tables, decorations and authentic Louisiana music, according to the release. Schwalbach is handling the renovations.
The Lost Cajun was founded in 2010 and now operates 11 locations in four states. An initial franchise fee is about $35,000, and an initial investment can go as high as $332,300.
In other Louisiana food news, former Houston Texans linebacker Bradie James, along with a group of people, recently partnered with Houston-based Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen. James played for the Texans for a season in 2012. Boudreaux's was founded in the late 1990s and has five locations in the Houston area.
