Cajun restaurant chain geauxs big with second San Antonio location

The good times are set to roll once again in San Antonio. The Lost Cajun is bringing more of Louisiana’s most famous cuisine to 226 Bitters Rd. with a new location opening in August 13.

The franchise may be based in Colorado, but founder and Louisiana native Raymond "Griff" Griffin (the "Lost Cajun" of the name) evokes the spirit of his home state in each of his restaurants with a focus on hospitality and classic cooking.

Like the other San Antonio location at 5602 W. Hausman Rd., the new Lost Cajun will offer a menu of traditional favorites like red beans and rice, crawfish etoufee, jambalaya, and lobster bisque. Gumbo is a particular specialty with three different varieties: seafood, chicken and sausage, and vegetarian.

There’s also plenty of fried foods on the menu. The restaurants drops everything from alligator to okra in its fryers and, of course, serves beignets topped with powdered sugar for dessert.

The family friendly restaurant, however, is known as much for its friendly atmosphere as it is for the food. Servers are encouraged to extend Southern hospitality to every guest and greet them with an old school “sir" or “ma’am.”
The dining room decor is down-home as well with beer signs, Mardis Gras masks and beads, and rustic tables. Inspired by Louisiana gumbo houses, the wooden counters in the open kitchen bring diners into the action.

The brand’s authentic Cajun food, Southern hospitality, and remarkable atmosphere has already resulted in so much recognition throughout Texas,” says owner and operator Barry Kruger in a release. “I am confident that the local community will welcome our concept with open arms.”
